Activity report from the successful Comenius Contact seminar in Athens, Nov 2008, is now available

The activity report from the Comenius Contact seminar, held in Athens, November 2008, is now available in the Documents section, direct link: http://support-edu.org/webfm_send/563 . This Comenius Contact Seminar was organised by the SUPPORT partner Kapodistrian University of Athens, Maria Daskolia and Evgenia Flogiatis.

SUPPORT is proud to announce that 4 out of the 8 school network applications that resulted from the seminar were approved for funding. The approved networks are as follows:

1. Title: Mind over matter

Countries: UK (Wales and Northern Ireland), Greece, Spain, Romania
Project ideas: Energy consumption (the main theme) – visit all 5 countries for collecting of data, sharing, comparing, and analysing them – bring about change focus on the attitudes of staff, students, parents and the wider community.

2. Title: Green Point- Activities for sustainable learning

Countries: UK, Austria, Finland, Spain, Norway
Project ideas: Whole school development (management, learner-initiated learning, decision making and environmental activities) - ‘Green Point’: a physical focal point for sustainable development at each school, with resources etc. – a mascot for the project would be elected among the pupils and would travel around the participating schools to remind them of the themes – communication would be facilitated through videos, workshops etc., the CO2nnect website, etc.

3. Title: Opening windows to European Communities

Countries: Finland, Cyprus, Spain, UK, Norway, Switzerland
Project ideas: to become aware of and appreciate different cultures – the focus would be on the socio-cultural dimensions of sustainable development – one video and a blog would be produced – 4 meetings during the project.

4. Title: Quality now and tomorrow

Project ideas: Start with CO2nnect – create a DVD with case studies + a website, attend SUPPORT biodiversity seminar in Kassel.
