About the organization
Codename Future wants to involve youngsters directly in social matters and thereby to bring social, economical and environmental issues to the attention of young people and give them more responsibilities in areas.
Codename Future has chosen the education setting as the access point for government and organisations to bring social, economical and environmental issues to the attention of young people and give them more responsibilities in these areas.
The Codename Future concept is not an additional activity superimposed on the learning program but rather offers a replacement of - and a supplement to - existing learning programs. Codename Future implements its program to the educational requirements of each school. It provides the ICT learning aids of modern education; it promotes the development of ICT skills; and it makes action plans and holds discussions.
Summary of your action plan in SUPPORT
November 16th, 17th and 18th 2009 Codename Future will organize a SUPPORT thematic conference: "Youngsters in the driver's seat for local sustainable development". Secondary level pupils, teachers and sustainable development experts from throughout Europe will become “sustainable development advisors” on 25 hands-on case studies of sustainability issues in Noord Brabant, Netherlands.
• Pupils will learn how they can be an active participant in local sustainable development
• Teachers and rectors will learn about education for sustainable development (ESD) methods involving partnership and participation in real local sustainability issues.
• Sustainability partners such as local authorities and businesses will learn about partnering with youths and schools to create sustainable development in their communities.
