The SUPPORT project
The main goal of the SUPPORT project was to promote education for sustainable develompent (ESD). The project had financial support from the EU Comenius Lifelong Learning programme in 2007 - 2010 and is closed, but the partners will keep working for ESD in their respective countries and in new networks. "CO2nnect - CO2 on the way to school"- international ESD school campaign
CO2nnect is an international school campaign. The overall goal is to promote education for sustainable development, while focusing on the theme of transport and climate. The campaign involves schools, research institutions and local communities.
The learning goals for the international school campaign "CO2nnect - CO2 on the way to school" build on reports and guidelines from the UN, OECD and others who have investigated what kind of learning that is needed in order to deal with the challenges of creating a sustainable society.
Participation is free and schools in all countries are invited to participate. The core pages of the website are translated to 17 languages (by December 2010). CO2nnect was cretated by the SUPPORT project, and will be maintained at least until Dec 2015.
In the first 1.5 years of CO2nnect, over 30 000 pupils, from 30 countries, have uploaded data about their school distance and means of travel. Besides reporting their data, they have answered the questionnaires, submitted questions to the researchers on line and uploaded climate ideas, photos and project reports about their CO2nnect related activities.

Learning activities and thematic materials are being developed on the website sustain.no . Tools and activities on this webpage have been used by schools in over 50 countries!
Discuss and learn more about Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)
Partners of the SUPPORT network organized a number of events in 2008-2010 to discuss and share experiences on ESD. The reports from the events are found under "Conferences/Events".
